New players to the group should be allowed to know the groups accord. This is so they can get up to speed with the group's intent, play style and current state, and reduces the chances of the accord being broken.
New players should always check the accord, or card file, of the existing player group to find out what guidelines are in effect with the play group.
When starting a new session, the group should again go over the setting, mood, general intent of play and any special guidelines or limits. This allows current players to refresh their memory, and to re-affirm their committment to the accord. The new players can then see this committment of the players and be assured that the accord exists to serve the players.
