Spiral

Rita (Former Stunt Woman - Ricochet Rita)

ABILITIES

Intelligence (5)
Strength (3)
Agility (4)
Speed (2)
Durability (4)

Challenges : Wild irrational temper with a tendency towards violence and hatred, also being "direct" is a now challenge for her, inspite of the above she seems to allign herself towards the "establishment" this may be a reflection of slave mentality or simply the true Rita. There is room to play her as a simpathetic villain or as a hero having "escaped" from Mojo's influences or an indirect benevolent who is only barely in touch. Symbolically Spiral is an invocation of Shiva the Indian Goddess of Distruction

ACTIONS:

Close Combat 5 plus Agility and Weapon Modifier, Multi-swords, Martial arts.

Spiral Mastery(3): Spiral uses an alien magic perhaps called the Spiral Force, It acts as the basis for the majority of her powers, and her name. Spirals are weavings of universal and dimensional energies in indirect nearly circular patterns, she invokes them through unique multi-arm gestures and spinning dance. Intelligence Bonus.

She performs these magics extraordinarily well, but normally is presented as not doing much else while working them. While weaving a spiral she is aware of what is going on around her, and can even talk, but if she is successfully attacked while she weaves, the pattern fails. The effects of her magics have so far included the following (but she is certainly not limited to just these)

Shatter Spiral: Shatters inanimate, inorganic material if stones excede the substances durability within a 3 area range. The maximum size affected is the equivalent of a large automobile. She can also shatter force fields, force walls, etc. with this pattern.

Energy Absorbtion / Reflection: Control energy attacks of all kinds (including electro-magnetic, gravitational, magical, heat, etc.) directed at her by weaving them around herself and sending them back at the user. In effect there own attack will be launched against them. If she fails to allocate sufficient spiral force to reflect the attack it will succeed against her as normal. She can perform this spiral as a defensive maneuver.

Power Neutralization: Cast an energy matrix around a character which neutralizes all of his powers, whether natural or artificial for three rounds. She can create this spiral in one round.

Synchronic Adjustment: Enhance or suppress another character's specific ability for as long as she continues to allocate stones towards the effect. Mechanically this should duplicate power boost for aiding allies and something close bad luck for hindering enemies. (she can normally only do one or the other)

Entropic Spiral Drain: Drain the life force from another sentient being to keep herself young and vital. What is left of the drained character is a lifeless husk. By the time she is working as a member of Freedom Force she has perhaps passed beyond the use of this craft. She can perform this spiral as a very protracted (160 stones) of uninterrupted work

Invisibility: (vulnerable to mage sight as well as those with specific Astral senses ESP even detectable with spideys danger sense) This makes herself invisible to normal sight by slipping into a thin layer of time space. She can still touch and affect others if she wills it, but can be hurt by a stray shot or lucky attack while doing so. When invisible she cannot be seen or heard by anyone save those with special gifts. She can perform this spiral very quickly.

Spiral Travel. (As per Magical Travel) Specialties Teleportation (has a distinctive Ping sound) and Dimensional Apperture(typically 80 stones R).

Alien Engineered Physique: In addition to the affects on her abilities.

Epidermal Enhancement: Spiral's has a thicker epidermal layer than normal humans which gives a +2 defense mod, against most physical damage, including heat and cold.

Super Leap: her alien physiology/musculature allows her to jump as though Strength 6.

Mental Defense & Retaliating Domination : Spiral's mind is slippery and strong in ways that are hard to understand she has survived the distortion caused by the spiral force and it permeates her mentality. If someone tries to control her mind, absorb her powers, or otherwise attempt to psionically dominate her, they run a serious risk of it being turned back on them.

Multidimensional Polygot : Lingual fluency which spans many dimensions.

Multi-dimensional Hunting / Tracking: 8 stones approximately very hard to put off the trail if she really wants to find/catch someone she generally will.

Multiple Arms: Spiral was genetically re-engineered (modified and enhanced) the process along with her working of spirals, may have in fact unhinged her. She has six arms and the nervous system and enhanced motor skills to allow her to control all arms engaging in multiple separate activities simultaneously She can for instance fight with up to three weapons, while using her other three arms for various tasks at the same time.

Cybernetic Replacement : Her ability to replace limbs with weaponry and even create the interfaces for complex organs like the connections to the optic nerves indicates rather extraordinary ability. Psylockes Eye and Lady Death Strike are prime examples of her handy work. Her own cybernetic arm may be the first example of her abilities in this regard: It is uncertain when her original was severed but it has since been replaced by a cybernetic arm of durability 6 which operates for all intents and purposes like a normal limb (except it must be repaired instead of healed when damaged).

Wealth : 2 Related to exploiting her abilities at cyber replacement in a black market if not strictly illegal fashion.

Tactics: Spiral is almost never direct in speach or battle, usually deceptive or wild On her own she will almost always sneak up on opponents, or teleport in from an unexpected direction. She is a deadly foe who doesn't hesitate to use her blades. When operating within a team, she will usually act as support, staying out of the initial action, weaving spirals to aide her companions, only using her more personal fighting prowess when necessary.

Equipment:

Spiral uses long thin swords made of an alien metal alloy

AFFILIATIONS:

Spiral is a slave-hunter for the Spineless Ones from another dimension. She can also recruit other alien slave-hunters through the Spineless Ones. She is the property of one Spineless One in particular, named Mojo, who is a powerful magic wielder and a mad, pathological destroyer. Spiral has worked with the Freedom Force on only a few missions so far, but she is considered to have contacts with this group.

ORIGIN:

Rita was a successful stuntwoman tagged Ricochet Rita an encounter with the being known as Longshot, a genetically engineered slave and leader of a rebellion in a near earth dimension ruled by the monstrous Mojo. Mojos dimension is a warped recasting of earths motion picture industry. Rita helped Longshot, and fell in love with him though apparently the love was not reciprocated. At some point, Rita was abducted by Mojo's agents. In Mojos domain, she was transformed into Spiral and granted the ability to wield magic, this short cut to power was probably one element contributed towards her mental distortion. To alienate Spiral further and spur mistrust of other humanoids, Mojo also had her configured with six arms.

Eventually Mojo unleashed the brainwashed and re-engineered Spiral along with various rebel hunters to recapture the amnesia afflicted Longshot (a side effect of a previous capture). They pursued Longshot through an interdimensional portal to Earth. Using Spiral against one Rita had "loved" is perhaps one of Mojos more subtle perfidities, and we can wonder whether she uses her full abilities when put to these kinds of tests as the capture attempts have ultimately failed.

HISTORY:

It is unknown if Spiral was trapped on Earth or elected to stay. Spiral enlisted in Freedom Force, the United States government's team of superhuman agents, as a means of learning more about Earth, and served with them on most of their adventures.

Later, Mojo joined Spiral on Earth, intending to prevent Longshot from returning to their native world and stirring up the slaves. Mojo then decided to take over Earth himself, but was defeated by Longshot. Spiral led Mojo back to their home-world. At some point, Spiral returned to Earth and to Freedom Force.

While on Earth, Spiral also created a guise as "pro-priestess" of The Body Shoppe, a place where genetics and technology are used to alter people in the same way that Spiral herself was altered, she is responsible for the transformation of the Japanese warrior Lady Deathstrike into a cyborg, as well as, presumably, many of the cyborg Reavers. Later, Spiral lured the mutant Rachel Summers, the X-Man once known as Phoenix, to capture and slavery in Mojo's universe. Later still, Spiral and Mojo temporarily captured many of the X-Men's proteges, the New Mutants, the hero Captain Britain, and his sister Betsy Braddock, later known as Psylocke. Spiral was involved in Braddock's cybernetic implants in place of her eyes.

Spiral eventually left Freedom Force after a clash with the X-Men in Dallas, Texas, where the X-Men seemingly died in battle with the trickster-god, the Adversary. She presumably returned to the Mojo's universe, where later, the X-Men Longshot and Dazzler led a rebellion against Mojo. For reasons of her own, she teleported the X-Men to the universe to aid the rebellion. After Mojo was seemingly killed by Longshot, Spiral teleported away.

Later, Mojo returned with Spiral at his side to capture the hero Shatterstar. Shatterstar was mortally wounded by Mojo by being transformed into a digitized state. Spiral saved his life, however, by transporting him and his ally Longshot to the bedside of a comatose youth named Benjamin Russell, who was then physically linked Shatterstar. In that act of heroism, Spiral revealed to have some very deep feelings for Shatterstar and Benjamin Russell, but nevertheless teleported away, apparently back to the Mojo's universe.

Spiral later appeared during the hero team Excalibur's encounter with the mystic Dragons Of The Crimson Dawn. Spiral was somehow mystically linked to the Dragons, wearing the same Crimson Dawn-tattoo that Psylocke possessed. After the Dragon's defeat, Spiral escaped to an unknown location.

Much of the above especially History should be attributed to the author of the original Classic MSRPG version.
