Here we are with audio experiment number 2.
I’m currently using skill stacks with my online playgroup and it works really well. I hope you try it out and like it as well.

OK, so you are moving skills from task resolution to conflict resolution?
That’s fine, as long as you are aware of what you are doing. For instance, would you use a skill stack during combat? How do you account for the potential time difference or the slow-down in pace of play?
As for the audio, the quality is much better. However I would echo the sentiment that audio should be used for something that can’t be done just as well in text. At the moment, you almost might be reading out a regular post. Multiple contributers; commentary of an event as it happens; talking a listener through something as they do it for themselves; these are all things that are ideally suited to audio.
If you do go with audio, include a brief synopsis in text so people know what they are about to commit to listening to.
Keep up the experimentation!
Pretty aware of what I’m doing!
Nope, don’t use it in combat. In practice, this doesn’t really slow down play. We’ve replaced several rolls with 1 roll. In addition, we don’t roll as much in my games. I’m a “say yes, or roll” type of GM, so we spend time where it counts.
I see what you’re saying about these audio posts, but the point is to also have something short that people can digest easily. Aall of those suggestions are going to take me over the 5 minute mark that is my target. The point is to have At-Will on the go.
request followup post with gameplay examples/transcripts (as best you remember them).
This is a great tip and I can’t wait to give it a try.
I’m loving this format of short audio posts. Hearing someone speak is much more casual than reading. Several of my friends are big podcast listeners, but they usually listen on their long commute to work which I (fortunately!) don’t have. I hope you keep doing these. While I wouldn’t want every post to be an audio post, I think these past two topics were a perfect fit for the format.
+1 from me for requesting a follow up post with an audio example. I’d really like to hear a quick run through of a skill stack from your table.
